There’s a thriving takeout business at Fo Kuang where a substantial vegetarian mixed rice meal only costs RM2 (you read that right). Pick the dishes you like and the shopkeepers will scoop them onto your plate – they prefer to serve you just in case you take more than you can finish. The dish variety is quite limited (tofu, greens, mock meats and curry) but you’re guaranteed to leave with a full belly and a barely dented wallet.
