Another month, another restaurant with an acronym. This one stands for Modern Asian Diner, whose kitchen is led by Dave Looi, former head chef of Penang’s Suffolk House. The menu travels down a path shared by many KL restaurants – Malaysian with a twist. Chicken rendang sandwich, chee cheong fun with peanut butter sauce, and smoked duck breast with watermelon and rambutan are just a few of the dishes on offer alongside brownies and ice cream. You’d be pleased to know that soft-shell crab pasta is available, what seems to be the required criteria of a KL-style East-meets-West restaurant.
