Looking just like another office in the sleepy suburbs of Section 13, Commoners Space is the newest addition to Shah Alam’s café scene. The interior is intentionally kept low-key – the white walls are clean and bare, save for a framed cover of Hypebeast and a portrait of Basquiat. The café’s love for minimalism is also reflected in their menu and, most importantly, the prices, most of which are under RM15. The café tries to incorporate local ingredients into their dishes, such as the pesto linguine topped with ulam. Besides baking their own sourdough bread for their sandwiches, the café also brews their own kombucha, a type of fermented tea.

A hidden treasure indeed, and to think that we have only just discovered this pleasant cafe, so close to home! Nice & cosy ambience, excellent coffee (mind u, we r coffee lovers...), Pulled Beef sandwich definitely is my favourite so far. Today finally managed to take the kids for breakfast here and they loved the place, the breakfast platter, served w toasted homemade sourdough bread, creamy mushroom .. yummy! Friends who had the pasta dishes, had nothing but praises, so next visit, I know what I shall try. Definitely will be a meeting point for my girlfriends and I.. Wish list, for Commoners Space to open earlier than 10am and closes later than 10pm. Kinda late for breakfast, too early for lunch and closes too early when meeting friends for coffee after dinner ! Otherwise, fact remains that I have nothing but praises for Commoners Space... 3 visits so far and my vote is unwavered. ! Well done Acap and hopefully more will discover CS!
