As one of the largest and longest-running chains in the Klang Valley, Daorae continues to prepare some of the best mid-range Korean barbecue in town — and though Desa Sri Hartamas isn’t lacking in Korean spots, that’s where you’ll find our favourite OG Daorae, on the first floor above Seoul Mart. Banchan, pancakes and spicy tteokbokki start things off, but like all good Korean barbecue joints, it’s all about the grill. Whether indulging in straightforward samgyeopsal (pork belly) or soy-marinated short ribs, each morsel will melt in your mouth. It’s not Korean barbecue without makgeolli or soju. Try one to wash it all down.
