[title]CÉ LA VI is well known for their iconic rooftop locations with breath-taking 360-degree views; their latest outpost in Kuala Lumpur is no different. With its location on the 37th floor of the ILHAM Tower, the view of the Kuala Lumpur cityscape is spectacular. As you enter the restaurant, you’re greeted by sweeping vistas and this will be the backdrop for your festive meals. Interiors are indulgently Asian and opulent, complemented with contemporary touches and the high ceilings.
The venue is separated into three different spaces – restaurant, lounge and club – which means you can spend an entire evening here from sunset drinks to dancing till the break of dawn. Modern Asian cuisine is the highlight here with a strong Japanese culinary influence, and this festive season’s menus are an appetising combination of Japanese and Chinese influences.
The Christmas Eve Dinner Set has a choice of either salmon or wagyu beef tataki to begin, followed by London-style crispy duck, slow-roasted duck with Szechuan chilli sauce or baked red snapper with miso and teriyaki sauce for the main course. Save room for dessert – chocolate ginger soufflé with salted caramel ice cream. If you fancy lunch with a view, try the Christmas Day Set Lunch Menu starting with wagyu beef tartare or a refreshing crab and cucumber roll, followed by either grilled salmon, Australian rib-eye or roasted spring chicken Beijing style. A tart yuzu cheesecake rounds the meal off perfectly.
New Year sees a lavish five-course menu starting with tuna belly sashimi and caviar or scallop and uni (sea urchin) carpaccio, an amazing entrée of foie gras with raisin sauce and a soup course of codfish chowder. There are three hard-to-pick choices for the main course – wagyu score 7 with seared scallops, lobster tail with miso butter and saffron, or grilled Japanese seabream with red curry and fennel salad.
Head to the club on Christmas Eve where DJ Ezzy & Jerryca Misty supported by resident DJ PFTD will keep you dancing all night. The New Year’s Eve party features DJ CZA, DJ B.O.B, supported by resident DJ PFTD. The theme is ‘Glitter Ball’, so get those super shiny threads on and sparkle the night away!
