For the very best of traditional Malay cuisine, head to Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara’s all-day dining restaurant Kwee Zeen for a special Heritage Bazaar Buffet – a collaboration between the hotel and celebrity chef Dato’ Chef Haji Ismail Ahmad.
Kwee Zeen will be decorated traditionally – the perfect backdrop to complement the impressive spread of culinary delights on offer. There will be more than 180 dishes to choose from, with classic Malay dishes representing the different states of Malaysia to a delicious array of Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Western favourites.
Celebrity chef Dato’ Chef Ismail is known for creating nostalgic dishes that remind diners of home. So, expect plenty of home-style cooking at the Heritage Bazaar Buffet.
Start your feast at the salad bar (options include pecal, lawar jantung, rendang pucuk ubi and kerabu daging bakar), and then move on to mains which include favourites like ayam percik Kelantan, daging salai masak lemak cili padi, asam pedas ikan pari and sambal udang petai. End your meal at the dessert station – there’ll be a wide range of local Malaysian treats and desserts like pulut durian, cendol, a variety of kuih as well as assorted cakes and pastries.
One of Dato’ Chef Ismail’s most famous culinary creations – Ayam Golek Istana – will be a highlight this year. This was a dish prepared only for meals served to royalty at the palace because of the exceptional and superior (and expensive) ingredients that are used. Dato’ Chef Ismail will be recreating it specially for Kwee Zeen’s Heritage Bazaar Buffet.
