Marini’s on 57 is an iconic Italian restaurant, rooftop bar and whisky lounge located on the 57th floor of the third Petronas tower and if it’s an awesome view of the Twin Towers you want, there is no better place to be. With the festive season upon us, Marini’s on 57 is offering the experience of a bona fide Italian Christmas meal with an excellent selection of Italian wines, of course!

Meat dishes like roast turkey don’t feature in a traditional Italian Christmas, and it was customary to eat fish on Christmas Day with oysters also making a welcome appearance. The contemporary Italian Christmas menu has changed to suit food trends and meat has become a common addition alongside seafood to the dinner table. Pasta in its myriad regional forms is also an integral part of the meal alongside generous platters of cold cuts and cheese. No Italian Christmas is complete without one of their greatest food exports, that rich bread filled with candied fruit peel, almonds, raisins and brandy – Panettone.

The Christmas Eve set dinner at Marini’s features a starter of potato ravioli and king crab, followed by a fulsome risotto with porcini mushroom, Bagoss cheese from Lombardy and shaved truffles. A nod to turkey comes in the form of a confit accompanied by kale Millefeuille and giblets on toast. Mains include pan-seared Turbot or slow-cooked lamb loin, and to end, classic Panettone and Pandoro (‘golden bread’, another Italian Christmas classic).

Come Christmas Day, the dinner menu starts with scallop Cannolo with shaved truffles, lobster Raviolo (all pasta is made fresh in-house) with Cantabrian anchovies, followed by roast Black Angus tenderloin accompanied with smoked potato purée or pan-seared Japanese sea bream with roasted artichokes. Dessert is all about the Panettone and Pandoro with mascarpone sauce, and there’s also a Neapolitan tart with a rich custard and citrus confit.

If you’re celebrating New Year in the city, opt for the truly decadent New Year's Eve Set Dinner where all your senses will be regaled – from the view to the ambience and the selection of fine food. Luxe ingredients like 32-month aged Parmesan, wild salmon, duck liver pâté, shaved truffles, Black Angus carpaccio and Hokkaido scallops and this is just the beginning! Mains are no less impressive – Wagyu tenderloin (marble score 9, no less), sea bass ravioli with sea urchin, saffron and caviar and caramelised cod fish with artichoke purée. The risotto dish features delicate white Alba truffles.
