[title]It’s that time of year when romance rules and finding the perfect place for dinner is on the cards. CÉ LA VI celebrates its first Valentine’s with a hedonistic menu guaranteed to get you in the mood. The starter of fresh oysters with ikura and ponzu gives you a glimpse of things to come. This is followed by a second cold starter of sashimi with that most intriguing of ingredients – ice plant. The warm starter is an exotic combination of foie gras, shitake mushroom and mandarin sauce.
Then it’s on to the lobster bisque and a choice of mains – Australian Wagyu (score 7) with caramelised onion purée and porcini mushrooms; pan-fried duck breast with hoisin sauce and pumpkin kimchee purée; or tuna cheek with miso sabayon and ponzu. Dessert is a Japanese-inspired choux pastry with green tea crumbs, wasabi ganache and goma gelato.
Once dinner has been enjoyed, head to where the action is at the Club and with ‘Dirty Dancing’ (remember this awesome movie?) as the theme, don’t put Baby in the corner and be sure to dance the night away! There is a cool Best Dressed Couple prize for those who come dressed according to the theme – think fun ’60s summer style.
And to make this a Valentine’s night to remember, there will be an exclusive dance performance like no other in the city featuring exotic mermaids and fire dancers. Look out for the rose bouquet auction and enjoy that amazing view of the city – the perfect backdrop for some Valentine romance!
