Moontree

It’s the place where Chinese culturati pore over ideologies, theories and social issues concerning the world. At times, you’ll find cliques of university students engaging in deep conversations, hunching over their laptops, and looking out the balcony. The shop – specialising in handmade zakkas (Japanese crafts), gourmet coffee and cakes – also sells books on feminism, and screens films every fortnight. The books Moontree chooses to sell certainly reflect the theme and purpose of the shop: to foster an intelligent and informed community in KL.
