Over the past few months, Cold Storage at KLCC has gone through some extensive renovations, and debuted their new look on December 15, 2017. There’s more to the revamp than just superficial changes, however, as several sections have been introduced, while existing selections have been expanded. And you don’t need to worry about lugging your groceries home either: Cold Storage now offers a delivery service for shoppers within 30km radius of the store, and is free for those who spend RM250 and above.

An expanded fresh food section

Staying true to its new tagline of ‘From freshness to inspiration’, Cold Storage now features a wider variety of local and imported fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood that help shoppers make the most out of their home-cooked dishes. In the fruit and vegetable section, for example, you’ll find an extensive range of hydroponic vegetables, organic produce, fresh farm produce sourced from O’Fresh and potted herbs.

Carnivores will have a field day here too, especially at the larger cured and fresh meat counter that stocks up quality products from the award-winning Dorper Lamb from West Australia, Tasmanian free-range king island beef, and a new range of ready-cook meals that need little more than a hot pan to cook up. There’s also a butcher behind the counter to help you source the right cut of beef for the right dish. Seafood lovers aren’t left out either, as the seafood selection has also been bolstered with a larger variety of locally sourced and air-flown fish such as salmon and shellfish.

A spruced up ready-to-eat counter

Cold Storage has also revamped their ready-to-eat counter that has an array of affordable grab-and-go meals – great for those moments when you’re hurrying about during the day, or want to grab something on the way home. Aside from local favourites like nasi lemak, the counter also serves up Korean dishes, Sangkaya coconut milk shake, as well as gourmet sandwiches and salads.

A new cheese section

Those looking for a variety of exotic cheeses will dig the new cheese counter, which features more than 50 types of cheeses from around the world, ranging from the mild camemberts to the intensely nutty blue cheeses and Roqueforts. Also available here is a selection of antipasto dishes such as sun-dried tomatoes, capers and olives to accompany the cheese platter.

More exclusive brands and imported products on the shelves

A big part of Cold Storage’s appeal is its selection of groceries, 35 percent of which are not commonly found in other supermarkets. These include imported biscuits, chips and non-dairy milk products sourced from Spain, Greece and Australia. You’ll also find selected imported items from Waitrose (UK), Casino (France), Woolworths (Australia), Organic Brand Wild Harvest (USA) and Macro (Australia) – all of which are sold exclusively in Malaysia by Cold Storage.

Malaysian Delights galore

Selected Malaysian food and ingredients also get their own area in the Malaysian Delights section, which features products from Yee Hup, Lou Si Fu and other long-standing Malaysian brands. Another new addition is the Taste of Asia range, which has ingredients and groceries from Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the Middle East to help you prepare Asian dishes that stay true to their traditional recipes.

A larger wine and spirits area

This section has been expanded to include a wider selection of spirits, single malt whiskies and craft beer from around the world, as well as an exclusive range of French wines brought in just in time for the Christmas season.
