Time Out says

Note: JohanAndHisCats Studio is now closed.

Teeming with wide-eyed purebred cats giving off an air different than that of the local kucing meowing at you at the mamak, the felines at JohanAndHisCats Studio in Setia Alam sure are fancy. There are more than 25 breeds in the studio, with 45 cats and counting. After the staff sprays disinfectant on your hands and breezes through ground rules (no flash photography, don’t kiss the cats on the nose, don’t hog a cat for too long), your cat-cuddling session begins. We took a liking to the Maine Coon with its tufted ears (almost a doppelganger of the moustached Hamilton the Hipster Cat) and the blue-eyed Ragdoll, but the other cats were just as loveable. The good-sized studio was clean and spacious, but we noticed cats had to go to the back of the studio to access their litter boxes (on our visit, a cat made a mess on the floor and it was awkwardly unpleasant).

You’ll see only imported pedigree cats here (if you don’t believe them, they can show you their certificates) – we’ll leave you to make up your own minds about this, although the website does claim that they work closely together with S.I Home Shelter. Also, take note that while this isn’t a cat café (there’s no food served), a separate café is in the works. Walk-in patrons are welcome, but online bookings are recommended, especially on weekends when sessions get booked up very quickly. There’s also a little corner at the back with comfortable seats fenced away from the studio if you need to take a break from the cats (but why would you?). They've also opened a pet supply store on the ground floor.
