Back in KL for its tenth year, Venezuelan Week is set to showcase the best of the South American country with jazz, food, history and art. For music, Venezuelan jazz trumpeter Michael Simon will perform at the Craft Complex on October 19. Foodies, make a beeline for olvorosa de pollo (chicken pot pie), carne mechadad (pulled beef) and asado negro (dark roast) at the Venezuelan Gastronomic Festival at Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre from October 22-31. Drink in some Venezuelan history and culture with a seminar on reinventing American and Latin American integration by Professor Josu Landa at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Universiti Malaya on October 21 and October 27. The more artsy of you will like the art exhibition at Universiti Malaya of 41 lithographs of the Venezuelan territories from artists such as Armando Reverón, Matin Tovar, Manuel Cabré, Federico Brant and Antonia Azuaje.
