Taking her lead from W.G. Sebald’s literary masterpiece Austerlitz, the German artist Karen Stuke has created a body of pin-hole camera photographs which track the book’s key locations. Stuke After Sebald is an installation made up of these images and a metaphorical railway line, with Jewish actors reading the novel aloud - the combination of which provides a haunting mediation on loss and retrieval. Take a journey through memory, light and time to discover some of modern Europe’s darkest corners.
