Royal Academy Summer Exhibition: our top artworks
With more than a thousand artworks to admire, the RA Summer Exhibition can be a daunting prospect. Allow us to guide you straight to the good stuff
Older than Bruce Forsyth, unhindered by war, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition is the indomitable, occasionally racy great-great aunt of London's big summer events. This year's show, overseen by Royal Academician Michael Craig-Martin, is a noticeably colourful affair. All-in-all there are 1,131 works packed into the galleries. Ahead of the official judging for prizes, including the £25,000 Charles Wollaston Award for most distinguished work on show, we were given an exclusive preview to come up with our own winners. Drumroll please; here are the results.
