An exhibition of photographic material drawn from the archive of The Stanislavski Centre at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance. The exhibition aims to provide a visual record of the work of Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavski (1863-1936) as actor, director and producer at the Moscow Art Theatre (which he co-founded in 1897). The photos, including productions of plays by Anton Chekov, Maxim Gorky and others, document some of Stanislavski's famous acting methods ('The Stanislavski System') which focuses on actors carrying out self-analysis and developing ensemble playing. Marking the 150th anniversary of Stanislavski's birth, the exhibition features a series of talks and associated events.
