Time Out says

Why go?
If you want an authentic (and muddy) taste of English rural life, this vast 89-acre farm is for you. It's London's biggest city farm, its rolling expanses of green sitting on the borders of Greenwich and Bexley. Explore its fields and you'll find peacefully grazing sheep and cows, and the chance to discover the rhythms of rural life, from lambing in spring to haymaking and apple picking in early autumn.

There aren't the exotic llamas or colourful budgies you might get at other, small city farms. But there are certainly enough traditional British breeds here to keep animal fanciers happy, from shaggy maned Shetland ponies to russet Tamworth pigs.

Don't miss:
There's a rustic selection of special events on this farm's line-up, from bat walks to barn dances.

When to visit:
Tuesdays-Sundays 9.30am-4.30pm, and Bank Holiday Mondays.

Ticket info:
Free, donations welcome.

Time Out tip:
Stock up on this farm's delicious apple juice, honey and eggs at the shop to bring a little taste of the countryside home with you.
