Duck & Waffle is opening a new branch in Piccadilly, and to celebrate, it’s distributing rubber ducks around central London. If you find one of the floating critters, you can trade it for a real duck dish at the new St James’s Market branch – free, obvs.

To help you find them, the restaurant has teamed up with some of their favourite bloggers, including @meanderingmacaron and @food_feels, who’ll be posting clues via Instagram to their whereabouts with the hashtag #waddlethisway.

If you find a duck, you can also post using the hashtag alongside #duckandwafflelocal to show off your treasure. The five most creative posters will be rewarded with a £50 voucher to use at a later date.

The new Duck & Waffle Local branch offers a more casual dining experience than its predecessor, with a takeaway option and counter ordering. There’s also a new menu from award-winning chef director Dan Doherty, including the duck burger with crispy duck leg and a duck jam doughnut, combining sweet and savoury. Of course, you can still order the classic duck and waffle.

The search for rubber ducks starts at 8am tomorrow, so we advise starting the hunt at the quack of dawn (sorry) to be in with a chance of winning.

And there’s a seaside in the sky pop-up coming to The Gherkin.
