Google will now show you how busy a bar or restaurant is in real time

If you can’t stand the crowds, then, well… you probably should get out of London. But Google is making it easier to dodge mobs at venues like restaurants, bars, shops and galleries with a handy new upgrade.

The 'popular times' feature (the bit that looks like a bar chart when you search a venue on Google) will now include a live feed that uses a red overlay to highlight the times a venue is busier or quieter than usual.

The information also highlights how long people stay in the venue, and the opening hours for concessions and departments in larger shops, like Selfridges.

Conveniently, this is all being rolled out ahead of Black Friday. Although everyone knows the early bird catches the worm (or in this case, the best deal). Just try not to all arrive at once, eh?

Did you know you'll soon be able to order an Uber to your friend's location?
