London’s one of the worst cities in the UK for 4G coverage

It’s no secret that mobile internet coverage in London can be shocking. We’ve all had to hang out of our bedroom window or walk down the street to try and pick up 4G at some point, right? But a new survey confirms just how bad we’ve got it compared to the rest of the UK. Answer: very.

Which? and Open Signal measured data from 30,000 phones across 20 cities in the UK via an app that tested 4G coverage and download speeds – and London came in at 16th place, with just 73 percent availability.

But if you think we’ve got it bad, spare a thought for the folks in Bournemouth, who’ve got the worst coverage in the country, at 67 percent. Middlesborough came out on top, while Sheffield has the second best coverage.

Mobile operators really need to sort this out – how else will we watch cat memes and scroll through Instagram on-the-go?

For when your 4G is working, here are some classic London Instagram shots to check out.

And here are the dogs doing Instagram better than you.
