Last night I had the most incredible dinner at the second incarnation of Patty&Bun's Residence pop-up. If you haven't heard about it, you need to get involved, pronto! The premise is simple - the Patty&Bun crew are giving up the kitchen of their London Fields restaurant on Monday eves and welcoming in some of London's best chefs to come in and make a memorable meal. The series kicked off with Tom Adams from Pitt Cue Co which I heard was a very meaty drunken affair. Last night was the turn of Palomar's Yossi who put down foil tablecloths, splashed sauce all around and made the most delicious mess I have ever tasted. Basically, this is a chance for chefs to go wild in someone else's kitchen.

Coming up they've got Josh Katz from Berber & Q (Feb 1), Merlin Labron-Johnson from Portland (Feb 16) and Mike Davies from The Camberwell Arms (March 8). It's £50 for a set menu, which might initially sound pricey but that includes all food and booze, and a very exciting dining experience. The Merlin Labron-Johnson tickets are £75 including sake pairing and all money raised goes to the charity ‘One Spirit Ashram Kitchen’, who provide free meals to Calais’ growing number of starving refugee residents.
