Remember those igloos by the Thames? They’ve been transformed into Mediterranean-chic cabanas

Can’t afford a summer holiday? Don’t worry. The folks at Coppa Club, the restaurant behind those festive igloos, have installed seven cabanas along the Thames – and they look like little bits of Mediterranean heaven.

Wreathed in roses and wisteria, the cabanas come decked out with wicker armchairs and sofas, as well as heaters and blankets to fight off that bracing British chill. There’s also a pop-up outdoor bar where you can stock up on lovely pale rosé and ‘Britz Spritz’, Coppa Club’s answer to the Aperol Spritz – a summery concoction of elderflower, prosecco and soda. Food-wise, there’s a new brunch menu – and eggs benedict will surely taste way better under a canopy of flowers.

Two cabanas are available for walk-ins and three are reserved for private hire. But act fast – Coppa’s winter igloos were booked-up completely in the first week. And we can see the same happening for this summer reimagining: it’s basically the Circle line riviera. What’s not to love?

Coppa Cabana launches today at 3 Three Quays Walk, Lower Thames Street, EC3R 6AH. Book your space here.
