Selfridges is spilling its secrets in a behind-the-scenes tour

Alarm clocks at the ready: for the first time in its decades-long history Selfridges is opening its doors to its worm-catching customers. As part of its Our House campaign – which saw its ultra lounge given over to workshops and atmospheric activities like, er, potato peeling – you’re invited to tour the deserted store before it opens to the public. From the location of Harry Gordon Selfridge’s personal lift to the inspiration behind having genderfuck troupe Sink the Pink performing a panto in the basement, you’ll get all of the behind-the-scenes gossip. And because the tour starts at 9:30am and that’s very early for a Sunday, there will be scrummy breakfast treats, including a glass of champagne, obvs, plus a very special thank-you-for-coming-round-to-our-house surprise gift.

The tour runs every Sunday from April 30 to June 21. Tickets are £35 and can be booked here.

Selfridges, 400 Oxford St, W1A 1AB. Tube: Bond St.
