Canvas bags at the ready! These Christmas markets in curious places offer unique gifts for all tastes.

Crafty Fox Market Brixton

This well-curated independent makers' market offering original crafts, homewares, accessories, prints and much more will also visit Canary Wharf, Peckham and Hoxton later this month. The Brixton edition will host 300 designers over the course of the weekend. Try screen printing workshops, buy tea and cake from the Tea's Knees and sip mulled wine while you shop. Horniman Christmas Fair

Dozens of stallholders selling arts, crafts, gifts and treats for all ages will set up shop in the lovely gardens of the Horniman Museum for this traditional fair. Monocle Christmas Market

The immaculate offices of International news magazine and radio station Monocle are open to the public for this hidden gem of a fair. Expect inspired treats, gifts and activities, plus live music, food and stalls from lots of classy shops. Father Christmas and his reindeer are due to fly in from Finland especially for the event. Eel Pie Island Artists Christmas Open Studios

Buy or commission original art and crafts direct from the artists who ply their trade in these stillworking boatyards. Surrey Docks Farm Christmas Fair

A festive breath of fresh air on the farm, this family-friendly market will feature local food stalls, a farm shop and plenty of produce from this year's harvest. There'll also be donkey rides, chestnuts to roast and a Santa's grotto complete with elves. All proceeds will go towards upkeep of the farm. Surrey Docks Farm, Rotherhithe St, SE16 5ET. Selvedge presents Artisan Christmas

Browse a wide range of textile-based gifts and products from more than 100 designers and small companies at this Christmas fair organised by design-led magazine Selvedge.
