Jorge Otero-Pailos: The Ethics of Dust

Hanging inside the Houses of Parliament are two huge latex sheets that have been peeled off Westminster Hall’s east wall; they’re ingrained with centuries of grime, probably intermingled with MPs’ sweat and tears. Spanish artist Jorge Otero-Pailos has created a glowing shrine that will make you ponder the role of parliament past and future. Westminster Hall. Westminster. Until Sep 1.

Stitch Academy

Unleash your creativity and acquire some fashion skills with help from the experts at Stitch Academy. Their summer workshops include hair dye and printmaking sessions, and a business talk from Henry Holland. Various venues. Until Aug 21. Register for a free ticket at www.hackneywalk.com.

Archikids Festival

Want your little darling to grow up to be a high- flying architect? Give them a head start by going to this family architecture festival where sprogs can get involved in animation workshops, walking tours and competitive Lego-building. Various Square Mile venues. Until Sun Jul 24.

Free brekkie at Smokey Tails

Fuel your Monday with a gratis breakfast from this new Hoxton barbecue joint. The meaty offerings include beef brisket hash with eggs and horseradish, and fried chicken and gravy. First come, first served. 2-4 Hoxton Square. Old St. Mon Jul 25.

Roman Road Festival

This East End festival is bursting with local talent, culture and arts. Peruse 40 stalls of food and goodies from London-based makers then join a suffragette or indie shop tour, and take part in a game of Roman Road bingo. Roman Rd. Mile End. Sun Jul 24.

'Hahaha' at Deptford Cinema

The first in a series of monthly screenings from the Korean Cultural Centre. This gentle comedy by director Sang-Soo Hong is about two friends reminiscing about their lives over the course of a summer’s evening.  Deptford Bridge DLR. Fri Jul 22.
