You can take a boxing class on a central London roof

This year, John Lewis has really outdone itself with its beautiful rooftop garden. Not only does it have delightfully dinky sheds for hire, wellbeing events from the likes of Liz Earle and cheese toasties that make you salivate on sight, it lets you channel your inner Chris Eubank up there. Monocle optional.

Aiming to wake London up, the rooftop garden is playing host to Hex which is running a series of boxing circuit classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Structured around Tabata training, a type of high-intensity interval workout, the class uses a combo of boxing moves, kicks and fast-paced cardio. The 45-minute session promises to have you feeling physically and mentally strong – basically ready to face your awful boss at work.

Rooftop Garden, John Lewis, 300 Oxford St. Tue and Thu 7.30am. Classes £15 each or block of ten for £100.
