One of three Adventure Bars in London, this subterranean spot on Bedford Street brings a combination of cocktails, tunes, food and good times to Covent Garden.

The food menu features dishes such as jerk skewers, burgers and sharing platters showcasing some of the mains as well as sides including sweet potato chips, sunshine slaw and rainbow peppers.

The drinks list ranges from vodka shooters infused with strawberry bon bons or cookies and cream, to porn star martinis, caipirinhas, flaming zombies, sharing cocktails and beers from around the world. Selections from the cocktail list are available for £6 each during the extended happy hours.

Despite being a basement bar, some of the drinks in here can make you feel as if you're sat by the pool of some far away holiday resort instead of a subterranean basement in Central London, such as the June Big, a bright green sweet cocktail that comes complete with a mini umbrella and a cherry. It also happens to be free if you use the Drinki app which is pretty cool, and after that their happy hour is pretty cool - slightly limited to the more "classic" cocktails (the crowd pleasers include a very good and powerful Bramble!) and they are 241 til about 8ish.

Food wise I'm so glad they kept the Dub Jam kitchen (previous restuarant that could be found where their now upstairs bar area is) which serves some delicious Caribbean jerk skewers - the halloumi one is super and the creamy coleslaw that comes with is super fresh and crunchy!

Have been before and absolutely loved the place. The idea behind it and the ideas for the cocktails have made it a really cool place. On my last visit however, I wasn't ID'd at the door, it was late afternoon so didn't expect to be. The doorman just waved us through because he was on the phone with what sounded like a personal call. Then when downstairs, my friend and I sat down to decide on drinks before heading to the bar, where one of the barmaids rudely asked us for ID before telling us that it was over 21s and that we should leave. Her tone and manner of behaviour was completely unprofessional and her sneering attitude really tarnished the entire company's reputation for me. It said no where outside or inside the bar that it was for over 21s (i'm 19) and having been before and this policy having not been enforced I'm very dissapointed as to how their staff acted. After leaving, we checked and found that there was nothing in the website or on any other information either on TimeOut or Google saying that the bar was for over 21s. Overall, very dissapointed.

Stopped in here for a happy hour cocktail after seeing a show just around the corner. This cellar type bar had a good atmosphere for a late afternoon drink and to get out of the rain. Many of the tables had RSVP's so I imagine it gets pretty crowded in there later in the evening.

Had a double 30th birthday shindig here at the weekend. It was pretty crowded but luckily there was a reserved area for us. Unfortunately in places it had the odd whiff of someone's recent "adventure" (pun intended) which left a little to be desired. Good music though, and if you like it loud - this place is a winner!

Absolutely fantastic, went there on my birthday and sampled a good few of the cocktails and got food aswell, so good.. Nice little touch that the priciee cocktails come with a free gift

I celebrated my 30th at Adventure Bar in Covent Garden, I had been there before in passing and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The booking process was quick and painless, I booked online through the website and received a call the following day. To secure the booking a £50 deposit was required and this would then pay for 2 platters (or go towards your bar tab). The platters were as good as you could expect from a bar, they also have some great drinks specials.

The table booked was in the back vaulted area, during the evening, this space gets quite busy and also very warm. It is a great space for a party, with great music and friendly staff. They do not offer table service, so you would need to go to the bar to get your drinks (and food). The music, as you'd expect in a club, is loud which made it difficult to have a conversation with guests without shouting at each other, but overall it was a really great evening.

Adventure Bar is one of my go to bars in London and especially in the Covent Garden area. They have a great cocktail list and happy hour that's genuinely tasty, boozy and fairly cheap, but the staff are great fun here and super friendly. Each time I've been in without a reservation they've moved people around slightly to ensure we get a table or seat, and they're quick with their drinks too.

They do have a few branches now but Covent Garden is my original and top choice.

Top Tip for newbies: Sign up on their online site and they'll send you a voucher for a free cocktail!

Adventure Bar.... I had very low expectations of you. And bizarrely enough you actually impressed. Well, maybe not, however it was better than I thought! On a Saturday afternoon the place was quite quiet but we popped in for a quick drink (free using the Drinki app). The staff were efficient and friendly. The drink was tasty and thirst quenching. It was a good stop off until a hen do paraded in. The rest of the cocktail menu looks fun and quite different so I wouldn't be adverse to coming back however it definitely isn't top of my list when there are so many other lovely cocktail bars around Soho and CG.

Perhaps my favourite bar in Central London. Fab cocktails, friendly staff, lovely decor and cool music. It has a great atmosphere and a perfect place for a date.

A bit stinky, but good for large groups if you get there early!

The bar is in a basement but it's really nice and great atmosphere.

If you are in your 20s or actually in your 30s but still holding onto your youth- -Adventure bar is a treat. Bartenders are friendly and the music is pretty awesome (coming from a 30-something who secretly laughs when 20 year olds don't know Green Day songs older than the Nimrod album).

Also-- the *ahem* eye candy is quite good from a ladies point of view ;)

Cocktails are reasonable and no night reclaiming your youth would be complete without copious amounts of shots of some sweet liquid passing off as alcohol (the skittle ones are particularly tasty). Just be wary of that hangover the next day because let's face it-- you are not a young kipper anymore.

Not good for: quiet evening in

Great for: PART-AY (like its 1999)

I think is good for a younger more rowdy crowd. It's always rammed, very loud. The cocktails are decent though, I just wouldn't go back on a weekend evening.

Great for parties and on the weekend! Keep an eye out for new menus and make use of happy hours!

I came here the other day for a colleague's leaving do and we had a brilliant time. The drinks were fantastic and the venue is awesome - very fun and quirky. The staff were really lovely and helped make the night a blast. Will definitely be back!

We booked a surprise birthday party for a friend and it was fantastic! A real hidden gem of a place. From the detail Sarah put in to planning our party to the FABULOUS manager who sat us. The Adventure time is fantastic value especially in central London like a happy hour. I would recommend the Surfers paradise the flaming zombie was awesome as well. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to help you with deciding on drinks. The music caters for everyone we had hits from the past all through till now. Takeover Tuesday was brilliant. Thank you Adventure Bar keep up the Good Times!

I've been to the Covent Garden Adventure Bart a couple of times now, and it's safe to say that I love it!! the cocktails are delicious and the bar staff are always smiling and very friendly. My favourite cocktail has to be the Dreamcatcher- it comes with a little fortune cookie as well which is a fun touch! If you're looking for a good atmosphere, decent music, and yummy fresh cocktails, then I would definitely recommend this place!

We had an amazing time at Adventure Bar :) The staff was friendly, fun and ready for a laugh. The service was fast and the happy hour on Saturday was ideal! Booking an area was easy and there was great disposition to fit all our little caprices ;)

Party atmosphere. Extremely welcoming and friendly staff. Wide choice of cocktails. Had a fantastic time. Highly recommended. Only thing stopping a five star rating is that happy hour ends at 7 and some places offer half price/2 for 1 deals till 9. I can only afford cocktails in London when they're on special offer.
