Comedian Jennifer Belander previews her solo show about raising a son with autism, which aims to highlight important issues with plenty of laughs.
I saw this show on Feb 10th. It was really good for a work-in-progress. I really enjoyed it. I laughed a lot and I learned some things...Is education supposed to be fun? Would definitely reccommend it!
When watching this production I was very impressed with the way this comdian turned what society would class as a negetive situation into a positive beautifully written piece of theatre that truly gives the audience a sense of witty educated comedy. She really draws the audience in with the way she bravely and generously shares her and her sons experiences dealing with autism. I personally did not know much about autism and the effects it has on people until watching this play. Jennifer somehow has managed to cleverly balance light heartedness, comedy, facts and many other lovely elements and has blended them together in her piece which is not easy to do as a writer. I would gladly pay to watch this again in any fridge or westend theatre. I left with more knowledge about the condition without feeling depressed or upset about autism. Jeniffer has a way of not making the facts daunting in any way shape or form. I was a very impressed member of the audience indeed. I erge everyone to come to experience this beautiful piece of comedy theatre. Very wisely written.
