What is Contemporary Ice Skating?

Ice skating meets contemporary dance in the guise of French-Canadian company Patin Libre, who are aiming to develop ice skating into a contemporary performance art (rather than cheesy entertainment). Ahead of a full-length show planned for 2013, the skaters are presenting a short taster of their work. Following the performance, spectators will be invited to have a go on the ice themselves.
