Best known for antiques and collectibles, this is actually several markets rolled into one: antiques start at the Notting Hill end; further up are food stalls; under the Westway and along the walkway to Ladbroke Grove are emerging designer and vintage clothes on Fridays (usually marginally less busy) and Saturdays (invariably manic).

Portobello Market is a mainstay of West London, but one of those places you often forget about until you're in the area.  The stalls are eclectic and the choice of fashions etc are pretty wide.  A fun market to visit, partly due to the various characters you will find there.

WE went for a visit Portobello Road Market. It was a lovely place to be in. We enjoy walking around all the food stalls. There were all kind of food from all over the world. Enjoying the seeing, tasting and smelling of the food. Wonderful atmosphere too.

I'm glad I had the chance to visit here while in London. I bought a beautiful handmade wool sweater which was very inexpensive. I live in New York and would have paid 3 or 4 times the amount if I purchased it here. Came home with some other lovely things, too. London is a beautiful city, as well as the city that my grandmother was born!
