Fairport's Cropredy Convention

No longer exclusively a folk festival, Fairport Convention's annual real ale bash – for that seems to be the only unchanged attraction – kicks things off on Thursday with a set from glam metal legend Alice Cooper of all people.

But Croperdy purists, rest assured. The line-up features plenty of rootsy gems including Martin Barre, Fake Thackray and, of course, Fairport, who will round-off the festivities on Saturday as is tradition.
