An unusual look at director Richard Linklater and his fiercely independent style of filmmaking that came out of Austin, Texas in the ’80s/’90s, sparking a low-budget movie movement in the US and around the world. Long before he directed ‘Boyhood’, Linklater’s intense desire to create fuelled his work outside the Hollywood system. The film weaves illuminating discussions with the director among testimonies from faithful actors, longtime crew members and industry professionals who consider his upward trajectory from ‘Slacker’ to his ‘Sunrise’ trilogy.

Time Out Cardholders are invited to attend an exclusive preview screening on Tuesday October 25 at Picturehouse Central.

It’s in cinemas November 4
