    Andina, Shoreditch is an all-day restaurant and bar for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and private dining, serving soul-food inspired by the Peruvian Andes. Andina is Ceviche’s second branch, but rather than imitating its older Soho sibling, it has new tricks, some of them inspired by the food of the Andes. As such, expect Peruvian-inspired ceviches, street food, cocktails, and colourful smoothies.

    Prime casual dining in the heart of London. Cyrus & Pervin Todiwala’s brand new Goan restaurant offers the perfect hint of Portuguese, with superb ingredients and flavour that is second to none. Assado (meaning ‘roast’ in Portuguese), occupies capacious premises on the ground floor of the spanking new ‘Hampton by Hilton’ hotel.

    Located in the heart of the City, Barbecoa sits overlooking St Paul's Cathedral. The breath-taking views, vibrant atmosphere and incredible food will make any dining experience special - whether it's a business lunch, a catch up with friends, or a romantic evening meal for two. Opened four years ago by Jamie Oliver, Barbecoa is a celebration of incredible produce and fire-based cooking. Chefs create beautiful, seasonal dishes using traditional techniques such as the Texas pit smoker, Argentine grill, Japanese robata grill, tandoor and wood-fired oven. The love and passion for food can be felt throughout the restaurant.

    Michelin-starred Benares restaurant, led by Chef Patron Atul Kochhar, explores dishes from all over India. Benares consists of a lounge, a main dining area, and four private dining rooms, which are lavished with hand-crafted Indian screens and complemented by a beautiful pond decorated with fresh flowers, creating a luxurious aesthetic experience. Benares prides itself in having a very experienced team of sommeliers who work closely with Kochhar to enhance the dining experience.

    Food importers Brindisa are famous for bringing first-rate Iberian hams, cheeses and other essentials to Borough Market. The firm’s showcase tapas restaurants are equally a benchmark. You’ll find an ideal blend of superb ingredients and refined cooking. Savour black rice, padron peppers and ham croquettes given extra depth from the quality Spanish meat.

  6. Club Gascon

    Club Gascon specialises in imaginative cuisine from the South West of France. Since opening in 1998, the restaurant has received numerous accolades including one Michelin star (since 2002). Head chef Pascal Aussignac is from Toulouse, and the hallmarks of the area’s cuisine shine through in his food, although it’s given the fancifications this level of restaurant requires. Flavour combinations are bold, which adds to the sense of occasion, and the technique is flawless.

    Ember Yard is the fourth restaurant from Salt Yard Group and takes inspiration from Spanish and Italian methods of cooking over charcoal. What sets Ember Yard apart from its siblings is an even greater emphasis on the grill, producing dishes as enjoyable as smoked chorizo and Iberico pork ribs.

    Once a metal box factory, Hixter Bankside features whole roast chicken and steaks to share, award-wining apothecary Mark’s Bar and great design from leading British artists. Hixter is a part of Mark Hix's family of restaurants so expect food with the wow factor and a very slick style indeed.

    Kurobuta found inspiration from the izakayas of Japan, where tapas-style plates are served to accompany drinks in a casual setting. At Kurobuta, you’re more likely to be greeted by the shredding guitars of Iron Maiden than the traditional Japanese welcome – ‘irrashaimase’. This contemporary Japanese restaurant is loud and likeable with a pleasant lack of airs and graces, a trendy interior and suitably playful dishes.

  10. Roti Chai

    Close to Bond Street & Selfridges, Roti Chai houses both an all-day Indian Street Kitchen and a more formal Dining Room. The menu is modelled on those of urban India’s snack shacks, so you’ll find bhel pooris, samosas and a big portion of moist, light Gujarati dhokra sponge, topped with two relishes: tangy tamarind and spicy coconut. And in the basement, the newly opened, evening-only ‘dining room’ is a darker, sexier space.

    Shake Shack is a modern-day version of a ‘roadside’ burger stand serving burgers, hot dogs, shakes and frozen custard. Located in Covent Garden, the menu showcases the Shack classics, as well as location-specific menu items made with locally sourced ingredients.

  12. Truscott Arms

    The Truscott Arms offers exceptional cooking in a beautiful restored Victorian pub in the heart of Maida Vale. It's a beautifully battered and refurbished old building on a slightly shabby corner in Maida Vale, with a new chef (Aidan McGee – a Heston Blumenthal alumnus), easy online reservation, and a come-hither menu in the elegant upstairs dining room. It's rounded off with an enormous and interesting drinks list, with plenty of wines by the glass.

Food fever is set to grip London’s East End, as the very best of London’s chef and restaurant talent unites for four days of food extravagance – at Taste of London Winter in partnership with Electrolux. Located a stone’s throw from Shoreditch in Tobacco Dock from Nov 20 to 23, Taste of London Winter will be a seasonal feast for the senses and will celebrate the thriving, diverse and truly exciting London restaurant scene.

Visitors will also have a chance to see their culinary idols in action around the festival and in the Electrolux Taste Theatre including Raymond Blanc, Michel Roux Jnr, Monica Galetti, Nuno Mendes, Mark Hix, Valentine Warner, Neil Rankin and Omar Allibhoy to name a few. Visit the Fire Pit for some flame-smoked salmon or char-grilled deer, pick up some top shaking tips in Diageo cocktail masterclasses or indulge in dessert demonstrations from expert chocolatiers.
