When I first arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge, there was a part of me that wanted to cry. I’d just stepped out of a seven-hour flight and the thought of lugging two overstuffed suitcases up the short stairs to get to the lobby somehow really broke me.
But before I could even attempt the first heave, a sharply dressed bellhop appeared, almost as if I’d made a wish. “No, no, you don’t carry anything, ma’am,” he smiled. “You’re at a five-star hotel. Put your feet up.” And just like that, all the travel-related stress instantly melted away.
Why stay at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge?
This is old-school London luxury at its absolute finest. The building dates back to 1922, a former Port of London Authority headquarters that’s now been restored with grand marble and soft lighting.
The location is a dream with the river at your doorstep and Tower Bridge right there too. Morning walks feel cinematic in that misty London sort of way and there’s also the added convenience of being right next to Tower Hill Station, which makes exploring the rest of the city a breeze.

What are the rooms like at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge?
Despite the building’s imposing exterior, the hotel has just 110 rooms, so it never feels busy. I stayed in a one-bedroom deluxe suite that felt more like a plush London residence. Just 958sqft of quiet, elegant comfort, complete with a dining table, a spacious living area, and a fireplace I would’ve loved to use if it weren’t still sunny in October.
The bedroom is wonderfully cosy and made getting up early almost impossible. And while the room is located on the third floor, the bedroom only has three small windows right above the bed. The effect is cocoon-like but a touch enclosed so if natural light is a priority, go for the Superior Rooms or one of the Suites instead.
The marble bathroom is also genuinely stunning: twin sinks, a deep soaking tub, and a shower kitted out with gold hardware. We didn't see a toothbrush with the bathroom amenities, which was surprising for a Four Seasons, but you can request one in seconds from the front desk. There’s also an in-room speaker system just for the bathroom, though I admittedly didn’t bother deciphering the controls.
What’s the service like at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge?
This is where the hotel shows off. Every time I returned to the room, the space had been subtly reset: my suitcase placed neatly on a luggage rack instead of the floor; chargers untangled and tied with Four Seasons–embossed leather straps; a fresh bottle of water placed beside a glass on a coaster I didn’t remember using. Even a small floor mat appeared on the side of the bed I usually get out of, slippers positioned at the perfect angle.
Turn-down service arrived around 9pm on my first night (I heard the knock while I was mid-bath), but by the next evening, it was done before I’d even made it back showing that the team pays attention and adapts to your rhythm. It’s the kind of attentiveness that makes you feel both cared for and slightly guilty about the state you leave the room in.

What are the restaurants like at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge?
The hotel’s all-day dining room, Rotunda, sits under a domed ceiling and feels elegant without being too stuffy. It's great for breakfast meetings or a slow afternoon tea.
But if you’re in the mood to dress up and have dinner in a restaurant that’s just as gorgeous, make a reservation at Mei Ume. The space is dark and sexy, and specialises in both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I ordered a dim sum platter (served with two excellent chilli sauces) and a nigiri set topped with foie gras and truffle. The sushi is inventive, the cooked dishes comforting, and the desserts beautifully plated. If I hadn’t been dining alone, I would have easily ordered half the menu.

What are the facilities like at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge?
Guests get complimentary access to the heated 14m indoor pool, sauna, and steam room from 6.30am to 8pm. The spa is intimate, with stone-lined walls and warm lighting – if anything, I just wish it stayed open till later. A post-dinner soak would have been perfection.
What’s nearby?
The hotel sits in one of London’s most historic pockets. You’re literally across the road from the Tower of London and a few steps from Tower Bridge. Walk 30 minutes along the Thames and you’ll hit the Tate Modern. Borough Market, the Shard, St Paul’s, and Shakespeare’s Globe are all nearby too.
Why you should stay at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge
Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge is as close to flawless as a big-city luxury hotel gets. It’s polished without being snooty and designed for travellers who want comfort, calm, and craftsmanship over flashiness. And with prices starting from about £500 a night, which is on par with other hotels in the area (many of which don't come close to this level of excellence), it's well worth the splurge.
