The Children's Republic of Shoreditch

Time Out says

Kids venues don't usually come with their own manifesto but the Children's Republic of Shoreditch is different. The children's charity Ministry of Stories has been encouraging the young people of Hackney to imagine how things would be if they had the law of the land. The result is an embassy completely designed by children: from the census to the cartography department, the passports to the advice bureau. The Republic's manifesto encourages sharing, fun, trust and fairness, as well as an appreciation of clouds. On weekdays local kids take part in workshops but the embassy is open to all on Saturdays. Each week there will also be a resident writer, including Nick Hornby, Joe Dunthorne, Laura Dockrill and Meg Rosoff, as well as missions and activities to take part in. See the website for details of upcoming events. All ages.
