Time Out says

Kensington’s Design Museum is a great place to entertain your brood during the half-term holidays, not least because it’s hosting a varied programme of day-long workshops suitable for youn’uns aged from 8 to 14, where they can learn about all sorts of design disciplines. Got an 8 to 11-year-old? Pack them off to the Robot Olympics (Tuesday February 14) where they’ll learn the fundamentals of coding while programming their own Micro:Bit robot to compete in various races (after which they get to take the robot home) or book them a space on Escape from Thunder Island with architecture firm Kennedy Woods (Wednesday February 15) where they’ll complete all sorts of design-based tasks and challenges in order to steer their pirate ship away from the treacherous Thunder Island to safety. Or if you’ve got secondary school-aged kids, they can join a digital collage workshop inspired by the museum’s surrealist exhibition ‘Objects of Desire’ (Wednesday February 15) or spend a day crocheting their own phone cdase with womenswear designer Peju Obasa (Monday February 13.)
