There's little more entertaining than watching the faces of bewildered Chatrouletters burst into smiles as Ben Folds sings to them in front of a 2,000 strong audience in Charlotte, NC. Unless, of course, you're watching the thumpingly fine and melodically sussed collegiate pop from the whole of Ben Folds Five (in reality a trio), whose style suggests a Randy Newman for the iPod generation.
