Time Out says
Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that events are still happening.
A pop-up town takes over a country estate for one weekend in August, with plenty of party action guaranteed.
Flogging Molly, John Butler Trio, Gogol Bordello, The Beat, Less Than Jake, Matisyahu, Alborosie, Amadou & Mariam, Squarepusher, DJ EZ, Toddla T, The Bug, Noisia, Luke Vibert, Caravan Palace, David Rodigan, Mr Scruff, Norman Jay, Dub Pistols, Pinch, Infected Mushrom, Dreadzone, Transglobal Underground.
While other festivals are happy with a couple of tents and a main stage, Boomtown goes the whole hog and transforms the Matterly Bowl estate in southeast England into an entire town just for the weekend. As well a dizzying number of stages, there are banqueting, craft and healing areas and mutated 'art vehicles'. Boomtown is child-friendly, but with plenty of beats-and-bassline hedonism taking place too if that's your bag. It's also one of the few UK music fests that specialises in dub, ska and reggae, with a fair-sized dose of swing, punk and rockabilly also on offer to make the weekend go with a bang.
