Former Refugee Council worker Wallee McDonnell has been coordinating St Ethelburga's 'world' music programme for eight years, putting on more than 200 gigs as part of the venue's successful 'Listen to the World' series. This goodbye gala reflects the diversity he's encouraged over that time, with a 'best of' line-up including Istanbul-born singer Aslan, nay (Arabic flute) player Baklitzanaki and Columbian harpist Laverde.
