The musician, actor, comedian and rock'n'roll pianist Tim Minchin hosts a Proms first – a Comedy Prom. He is joined by beat-boxer Beardyman, The Boy with Tape on his Face, plus Doc Brown and the Mungrels. (Note: at 5.45pm and 9.40pm there are Proms Plus events at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Albert Hall respectively. At 5.45pm comedians Natalie Haynes and Steve Punt join Matthew Sweet to unveil and perform their favourite humorous writing from down the ages. Then at 9.40pm young artists perform poetry and music in the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room.)
