With its 32nd edition due to take place in 2027, the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival has long since established itself as a key date in London’s cultural calendar.
Each year, the institution invites one celebrated artist to curate the festival, with such luminaries as David Bowie, Grace Jones, David Byrne, Chaka Khan, Patti Smith and Harry Styles having previously taken on the exciting task.
And next year? London-based Grammy and MOBO Award-winning electronic musician FKA twigs has the honour of curating, and will also headline the festival with a ‘landmark’ one-off performance.
Details of her line-up won’t be revealed until next year, but you can expect some unique gigs that we imagine will feature emerging and established talents from London’s underground scene in the mix, alongside dance music heavyweights and one or two unexpected names working in different genres. We can’t wait to see who makes the bill.
