The rap night with a sense of fun is back! And this month, while the city may be going gaga for The Queen's jubilee, they'll be celebrating hip hop's monarch, Queen Latifah. DJs Lexicon and Goldbars work their usual music policy of ‘If there’s a rap on it, they’ll play it’ and enlist guest DJ Bethnal Dreams (Kate Hutchinson) to spin a special lady-rap set in dedication to The ’Teef, while you bust your best royal moves with masks of the great lady's face. Expect everything from Mos Def to Betty Boo to get an airing. Think party hip hop, G-funk, early ’90s rave, R&B, garage, grime and loads of pop featuring tenuous cameos by MCs with Hennessy bills to pay. You’ll also have the chance to get your favourite tracks played in the last hour. Last month's was a total roadblock so make sure you get there early or email fortheloveofmic@gmail.com for guaranteed entry.
