Gilad Atzmon with Strings

Known as much for his firebrand opinions as much as his garrulous virtuoso alto/clarinet playing, Atzmon revealed a more reflective but no less passionate side with his album 'In Loving Memory Of America', which was inspired by his sax hero Charlie Parker's 'Bird With Strings' album. The Israeli jazz master displays the true depths of his knowlegde here with a measured, highly assured exploration of post bop and beyond with the Sigamos String Quartet and his own trio.
