London Sinfonietta hosts a day of concerts, showcasing the best upcoming composing and performing talent from home and abroad.

From 4pm: HIDDEN - Backstage tours and concerts between sets. (Four composers have created new short solo works. These are performed in backstage spaces not usually open to the public, curated and dressed by students from Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.)

4.30pm - MAIN SET 1, The Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall.

London Sinfonietta plays John Cage's 'Suite for Toy Piano'; Andrew Hamilton's 'Music for Losers' for solo cello; and Juliana Hodkinson's 'Stills' for clarinet and piano.

5.15pm - The Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Composer talks with Andrew Hamilton, Tansy Davies and Larry Goves.

6pm - MAIN SET 2, Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Sinfonietta under Martyn Brabbins, with pianist Huw Watkins and Sound Intermedia sound projection. Tansy Davies's 'Nature' (concerto for piano and ten players); and Larry Goves's 'Trends in Personal Relationships'.

6.45pm - The Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Composer talk with David Fennessy.

7.30pm - MAIN SET 3, Queen Elizabeth Hall.

London Sinfonietta and London Sinfonietta Academy Ensemble under Martyn Brabbins, with pianist Huw Watkins. David Fennessy's '13 Factories' for ensemble and electronics (UK premiere); Andrew Norman's 'Try' for chamber orchestra (UK premiere); and Gerald Barry's 'Lisbon' (chamber concerto for piano and 11 Instruments).

8.15pm - The Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Composer talks with artists and composers working on HIDDEN.

9pm - MAIN SET 4, Queen Elizabeth Hall.

The cellist Oliver Coates and Serafina Steer voice/harp perform Alvin Lucier's 'Music for cello and one or more amplified vases'; Serafina Steer's Songs; Charlie Usher's 'Yawl Ketch Schooner Brig' for cello.
