We’re hosting a colourful pop-up experience to listen, explore and share in moments of feel-good connection through music at Westfield London this summer. Aptly named Sounds of the Summer, the event series features seriously blissful DJ sets and performances from rising musicians – handpicked by UD Music, every Friday from 5pm and 9pm between now and August 26.

UD is a London-based music organisation bringing communities together around Black music and Black music culture. With 25 years of experience in nurturing and supporting Black and culturally diverse artists when they need it most, UD acts as a bridge between burgeoning talent and the music industry.

Who are the performers headlining at Westfield this summer? Well, here’s the lowdown on all five of them.

Richard Carter

Meet Richard Carter, a visionary artist, producer and songwriter from South Norwood, London. His production on one of the biggest horror films of 2023, Talk To Me, has led to his track ‘Le Monde’ being streamed over 100 million times. His debut EP is coming soon, so keep an eye out.

Don’t miss sets from Promise Kadree, Emre, Farran Mia, The Multiverse, Jack Joy.

She was labelled as one of 25 Artists Who Could Define 2025 by CLASH, and as one of 10 Musicians To Watch in 2025 by DAZED, so you can trust she’s on to big things. Her single ‘People Watching’ is out now.

Don’t miss sets from  Shelbee Tee, Baaba, Lina, Isabelle Mettle, Rio Sterling.

Ashaine White

Ashaine White strives to be ‘alternative’ in the purest sense of the word. Her dream is to connect people to themselves through her music and do so by existing as freely and authentically as she possibly can. Listen to tracks like ‘All My Wrongs’ to hear influences that range from pop to emo bands like Paramore and Arctic Monkeys, which initially sparked her love for guitar music.

Don’t miss sets from Diya Sohi, Nad Etzioni, Zeya, Shanay Maliya, Teodora Sava

Shantéh

She’s one of the lead vocalists for South East London Afro Jazz collective, Steam Down and a lead vocalist for the UK Colombian jazz collective, Mestizo. Her latest album Breath, created solely with her vocal loop pedal, is out now.

She’s got an impressive 300+ million streams across her music catalogue on Spotify alone. Malika has collaborated with Nathan Dawe, Snakehips, Basement Jaxx and many more. Nicole Blakk

A promising new voice in UK rap, Nicole Blakk is a boundary-pushing artist blending razor-sharp lyricism, soulful vocals and a multilingual flair. Now firmly on the radar of some of the genre’s biggest producers (following a viral cameo on DJ AG’s livestream), she’s done collaborations with Red Bull, UD Music studios, had an appearance on Beta Squad, and performed at SXSW and Glastonbury. She’s got a growing fanbase on TikTok, where her English, French and self-taught Punjabi freestyles and genre-defying sound continue to turn heads.

Don’t miss sets from Zion & Siobhan, Silvana, Charlotte Dowsson, Rashád, Love Itoya
