Billed as 'five nights of velvet, glamour and guilt', this run of dates in the swanky ROH promises to be quite an event. Wainwright's emotionally overwrought operatic pop, lusciously OTT arrangements and self-consciously mannered presentation may not be to everyone's taste, but the man's a consummate showman and clearly has a limitless talent for melody. Here, in the fifth and final date of his residency Wainwright performs his self-styled 'prima donna concert version' with Kelly, plus 'Rufus does Rufus', with the Britten Sinfonia conducted by Stephen Oremus.
