Polar Bear, The Neil Cowley Trio, Cadence Weapon, The Simonsound, Subeena, The English Concert, Eliane Radigue. The Spitalfields Summer music festival has been showcasing local talent at the open air market for 35 years now, with added family fun weekend events and evening concerts in various surprise locations. As well as the Baroque era Tafelmusik (table music) by TEC (Jun 10), British and Bengali folk at Spitalfields City Farm (Jun 18) and buskers scattered around the Spitalfields area, there will be storytelling sessions and various music and dance workshops throughout the festival, and you'll have a chance to hear former Pogue man Jem Finer's original composition 'Longplayer' (Jun 10-25), designed to play continuously for 1,000 years.
