The Unthanks

It's a family affair, this Mercury-nominated folk band: Becky Unthank and her sister Rachel handle vocal duties while Rachel's husband, producer Adrian McNally, takes to the piano. Other (unrelated) members play fiddle, dulcitone and ukulele. Performing full-blooded traditional ballads and songs in a simple and unadorned way, they draw on their lifelong immersion in the traditional music scene of their Newcastle home.
