Switch up your usual weekend routine with some unconventional events and discover a different side to London

London Buddhist Centre Open Day

Here’s a great chance to get an idea of what goes on at the London Buddhist Centre. Whether you have an interest in Buddhism, want to learn how to meditate or fancy a taster session of mindfulness, have a little look around to see what’s on offer.
51 Roman Rd. Sun Nov 11. Free.

Strategies for Survival: King’s Cross Gas Workshop

Are you a survivor? Are you going to work harder? Are you going to make it? You’ll know the answer to all these questions after artist Tom James’s workshop on living off the grid. At his class you’ll learn how to generate your own gas from food waste, where to look for and how to use salvaged materials, and small ways in which you can tackle climate change.
Arts Catalyst Centre for Art, Science & Technology. Sat Nov 11. Free.

Ohh Cha Muji Matcha Tea Bar

What’s the tea-sis? Rare loose-leaf matcha teas straight from Japan for you to try? I’ll pop the kettle on. Japanese food specialist Oishii Haha (OHH) is running a matcha bar pop-up at Muji’s Tottenham Court Road flagship store this weekend. Slurp unique koicha (thick tea), snack on delicious Muji nibbles and discover more about East Asian tea in a series of workshops. It’s a matcha made in heaven.
6-17 Tottenham Court Rd. Sat Nov 10-Sun Nov 11. Entry free. Workshop £15.

The Naked Dinner

Now’s your chance to free yourself from the shackles of clothing. Dine in the buff and tuck into a tasty three-course dinner with other unclothed strangers. Don’t fancy going completely starkers? There will be aprons on hand to cover your modesty if need be. But basically this is a saucy dinner set up for baring all.
Secret location. Fri Nov 9. £30.
