4 talks that will change how you think about sex in London

Frank discussions and panel talks on the whole gamut of sex-related topics are held in London every week. Here are four to know about

‘Sex Parties and Where to Find Them’

Always wondered about what happens at a sex party? Find out at a chat organised by Time Out and SuperCulture. Sex writer Alix Fox will join Emma Sayle (Killing Kittens), Jessica Parker (Lady Liquid Love) and Eyal Shaphyr (who runs ‘sensuality’ parties) to find out how and why what makes a ‘sex party’ is changing. Whether you’re a party fan or just curious, it’s going to be one eye-opening Valentine’s night.
The Book Club. Thu Feb 14. Get exclusive £8 tickets for Time Out readers here

‘Unwrapped: Demystifying Female Masturbation’

It’s hard to find a comedy that doesn’t feature a man jerking off in front of a mirror, but wanking women are rarely seen. At this free talk, The Pink Protest co-founder Grace Campbell and Style Me Sunday’s Natalie Lee will tackle taboos about female pleasure, while the creative director of sex tech brand The School of Digital Age will explain how to ‘bridge the satisfaction gap’ with toys.
Second Home. Feb 28. Free, register in advance.

The Candid Collective talks

At The Candid Collective’s regular talks, the aim is to take over informal spaces to go deep into subjects like ‘the history of masturbation’ or ‘the benefits of nakedness’. The organisers work hard to create an easygoing atmosphere that doesn’t feel didactic – and usually have activities like genital-model-crafting or vulva and penis magnet-making or life drawing thrown in for good measure.
Next up is ‘Hitting the Spot: A Curated Guide to Sex Toys’ at The New Cross House. Mar 14. £15.

Sex Club

This event offers a conversational (and confidential) social that was developed in founder Juliane Mueller’s living room, and has migrated to The Apple Tree pub. The intention? ‘To break taboos around sexuality by listening and talking, with curiosity,’ says Mueller. You can turn up and share, or sit back and listen.
The Apple Tree. Wed Feb 13. £10-£15.
