[title]
The fifth of November has arrived, with London’s skyline set to come alive with sparkling colours. But Bonfire Night is no longer a one-day occasion. The celebrations will continue over the next four days, with huge fireworks displays happening all over the city.
Most bonfire bonanzas in the capital are ticketed, as they often involve much more than fireworks or are using ticket sales to fundraise for charity or the local community. At Alexandra Palace, a £21 ticket gives you access to karaoke led by Shaun Williamson (AKA Barry from EastEnders), a German beer festival and a performance by a Queen tribute band. Over in Battersea Park, the £18.60 ticket on Saturday includes a disco ceilidh, a DJ set from Rudimental and a live Latin band. You can find displays with ticket availability here.
There’s just one totally free Bonfire Night event in London, and one other that’s partially free to attend. Alternatively, you can view the displays from a nearby vantage point. You won’t get the live music or buzzy atmosphere, but you may be able to enjoy several dazzling shows going on at the same time. Here are all your options if you want to enjoy Bonfire Night fireworks for free.
The best free Bonfire Night displays in London
Coram’s Fields Fireworks Display
It’s first come, first served at Camden’s Coram’s Fields display. The free family-focused event has capacity for 6,000 people and begins at 3.30pm with fun fair rides, food stalls and performances from local youth groups. A 20-minute long display of fireworks will commence at 6pm. Note that adults without accompanying children won’t be admitted.
Date: Thursday November 5 2026.
Harrow Fireworks
Make sure you’ve got stamina because this event only has free entry between 12pm and 3pm. After that you’ll have to pay £20 per person (£15 for kids) at the gate. Harrow Fireworks in Byron Park is unique in that it combines Guy Fawkes Night with Diwali celebrations. So, you can expect Bollywood dancers, Indian food, a funfair, a Fizz Kids show, Diwali art, Mehndi and henna hand art stands throughout the day, before the fireworks kick off at 7.45pm.
Date: Saturday November 7 2026
The best free fireworks viewing spots in London
Fireworks can, of course, be seen from far and wide, so you don’t have to attend an official Bonfire Night event to enjoy them. Instead, you can pitch up at an elevated spot somewhere in the capital. Just don’t try to go to Greenwich Park or Primrose Hill – they both close before the major fireworks displays begin. Here’s where you can go to get a good view on November 5 or over the weekend.
Parliament Hill
From Parliament Hill on Hampstead Heath, you’ll be able to see fireworks setting off from a number of London boroughs. As one of the city’s best vantage points, it can get rather busy, so arrive early to secure a good spot.
One Tree Hill
If you’re in southeast, you can head to the top of One Tree Hill in Honor Oak Park to get a decent view of the surrounding fireworks events.
Tate Modern Level 10
The Tate Modern stays open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, so after mooching around its galleries, head up to its Level 10 viewing platform to watch fireworks bursting all over the city. Of course, you need to time it right – most displays on the weekend are happening between 6pm and 8pm.
